There is an Andy Williams Christmas song called “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”. Many parents use this as their theme song since Staples uses it in a commercial for their “Back to School” advertising. In the commercial we see a dad very happy and some very sad kids.

Well for the Sports-lover, late September and October has to be the most wonderful time of the year.

NCAA Football is in full swing as well as the NFL. You can get get your football addiction on five nights a week and practically full days on Saturday and Sunday. And don’t forget your local prep/High School teams can provide you good live football with out busting your wallet.

Not a football fan? Hockey drops the puck to being their season and with the NHL and College seasons starting and many Junior leagues are already underway. If you haven’t seen Junior hockey, you should find your local team. With ticket prices in the $5-$10 range you can see some great hockey without breaking the bank either.

Basketball starts gearing up for the beginning of their seasons as well. Newspapers and sports websites start their chatter heading toward the NCAA’s Midnight Madness where the first practice is as hyped as much as the games themselves. The NBA and preps get underway in October as well.

But that’s not all, if you call and order now, we will also through in the NASCAR Chase for the Cup, their version of their playoffs. The final 10 races span all of October. And there’s more! The Boys of Summer make their chase for baseball glory as Major League Baseball’s World Series is completed in October.

As a sports fan, its almost overload. You need two or three DVR’s and a clone or two if you want to catch it all.

Its truly the sports fan’s most wonderful time of the year!
